Joyful Dance Policies

REGISTRATION FEE
An annual non-refundable registration fee of $25 per one student,
$45 per two students and $55 for three or more students in one family is
due at the beginning of each dance year. In January the fee drops to half the amount.

MONTHLY TUITION
Tuition is due the first of every month. We base this fee on a 9 month dance year,
and are not prorated due to absence or holidays. I.e. there are no extra fees
for more than 4 lessons in a month, and there are no reductions for
those months with only 3 lessons.
Statements are not sent out monthly, so please make note of when fees are due,
also check the bulletin board weekly for reminders!
There is a $30.00 charge for all returned checks.
There is a 10% discount on monthly tuition for each additional student enrolled from the same family.
30 minute class $45.00/month
45 minute class $50.00/month
60 minute class $60.00month

SPRING RECITAL - Saturday, May 5, 2012
An annual recital fee of $45 per student is due February 1st. $15.00 for each additional dancer of the same family.
Each student performing in the spring recital must pay this non-refundable fee.
It is to help with the cost of the rental of the auditorium, sound,
lights, programs, technicians, and all other costs.

SPRING RECITAL COSTUMES
Recital costumes will be ordered in January, a non-refundable deposit of $40 is due Nov. 18,
and the remaining balance (to be determined by the final cost of the costume) is due Jan. 13, 2012.
If you have not paid your balance in full by Jan. 13, you will not have
a costume ordered for you, as there are no refunds allowed with the companies I order from.

ABSENCES AND MAKE-UPS
I do not recommend missing class, because the best way to develop a dancer is for him,
or her to be in their appropriate class each and every time, but I do understand
things come up. Each month I will attempt to schedule a make up class on Saturday
for any classes that have been missed.
(You may take the make-up class even if you have not missed any classes.)

DROP OFF/PICK UP
Please arrive within 5 minutes of the class time.
Make sure your dancer has their ballet shoes on, tied and laces tucked in.
The last class of each month will be used for observation, otherwise please drop off your child.
The learning curve is much greater when your child is focused on the lesson and not watching you.
There will be room for exceptions especially with the 3 year old class.

ATTIRE
Black Leotard and pink tights should be worn.
It helps to show the basic features of the body and also shows correct placement
that the teacher needs in order to make corrections to their students.
Hair should be pulled back and completely out
of your face. Please note to label all your shoes, dancewear and bags.

HOLIDAY CLOSINGS/WEATHER CLOSINGS
We will close for the major holidays in conjunction with the MISD school calendar.
Closing dates will be posted as they come up.
